Step up for spring in colorful shoes
Patricia Easterbrook Prior recalls the day she went to Neiman Marcus in Chicago wearing a black dress, a bright yellow jacket and red kitten-heel shoes. In shiny red patent leather, no less.

Prior, a medical systems librarian and jewelry designer from Williamsville, is right in step with one of spring's biggest trends -- colorful shoes. And there are many ways to pull off the look.
For starters, the shoes can add a pop of color to a neutral outfit. Talbots shows flame orange, open-toe, 3-inch heels with navy pants, an ivory blouse trimmed in navy and a light khaki trench coat, for example.
Or they can anchor equally colorful clothing. Gap's website features bright pink oxfords paired with aqua-colored skinny jeans.
